I received the combo SD 4GB and the USB 2.0 SHDC Card ready by mail on time. It's working wonderfully. The SD 4GB is for my new Canon SD 890IS camera and can handle around 3,500 pictures with the setup of 1600x1200 pixels. The card reader works very well, except one minor issue, the body of the reader case is a little wide, so you can't have two USB devices connected next to each other at the same time. It's a minor problem for me. Somehow, I keep giving readers similar to these to friends or family members who are clueless about card readers. Having depleted my reserves, I ordered two of these readers to replenish my stock. The cards that I received were not exactly what is pictured on this page, because they do not say "SDHC" on them. This left me worried that they would not read the new high capacity (HC) cards. BUT, THEY DO! And, they also read the regular SD cards. Also, they have a nifty bright red LED activity light. My only complaint is that both end caps detach completely, rendering them easy to lose if you are not careful. Other than that minor nit, I can recommend them highly. I purchased this for my red Sony PRS-505 ereader. This is a very nice upgrade to cover that comes with the ereader. The leather is nicely padded and the inside is lined with suede with pockets to store extra memory cards. The insertable flap keeps the cover closed when not in use. This cover can be folded completely behind the ereader when opened and held in place with the flap. Overall I'm satisfied with this cover. The cover padding, especially over the screen area, protects the Reader much better than the original cover from Sony. It also looks nice and stylish.

The elastic straps are holding the Reader securely; the end result is better than I expected. There's no risk of the Reader falling off.

My only gripe is the price. For $35, I'd have expected a little more quality. For example, the inside of the cover left black traces on my fingers (and thus, the reader) for the first few days, and the cover smelled strongly of glue and fake leather. Fortunately, both problems seem to have gone away after a week of use. Those slight flaws are stopping me from giving a 5-star review. I bought this to read and write to larger SDHC cards and it work as needed.
It worked on a 4gb and 8gb micro SDHC cards. It worked with an SD adapter AND it also worked with the microSDHC side slot on both of them.
I also bought the Kingston 133x CF card in 4gb and 16gb. It worked fine for the 4gb , BUT did not recognize the 16gb card. The 16gb card worked fine when used with a cardbus to CF adapter.

I received the Sony Reader as a Christmas present and love it! I tried using a traditional book light with the reader, but it just didn't work well. Kept trying to adjust the direction of the light, but to no avail. The Custom Light Shield illuminates the entire page perfectly. It's a pleasure to lie on the sofa, dim the room lights, and still see the entire page clearly. The Sony Reader and the Custom Light Shield make for a perfect combination. I bought this card reader to replace a Fuji XD reader that I gave my daughter. The Fuji is better in a number of ways. First of all, the Fuji has provision for attaching a lanyard, and secondly the Fuji has a sliding cover for the slot where the card goes in.

This product says "Hi-Speed" the transfer rate was horrible. I would say about the speed of USB 1.1 . Also the construction is terrible too, the metal case it cheap and sharp so it cuts into the cable coming out of the back. The casing is also poorly designed and pops apart without any effort. I have a Dell Dimension E520 that came with a card reader but the SD Read slot gave way, so I saw this device and noticed the USB port, so naturally I added it to my cart. Was delivered in Amazon style, on time and in one piece, after installation which required removing the existing cable it was fine, but when I started writing this review I couldn't get the USB port to work, after I plugged and different device into it, it worked brilliantly. The device I should be rating is the WD portable hard drive. Anyway that's for a different review.

So in closing if you want to add another USB port while having the flexiblilty of the card readers then this is a winner.

This item is contructed mainly of plastic which will wear and breakdown at some point. When plugged into the USB port it is kind of loose which might result in problems with the port or the reader.
The cable makes it a bit easier, but over all this unit is not that durable.

I chose this reader after researching http://robgalbraith.com. I recently added a Canon 5D Mark II to my gear, and my old Dazzle* reader took up to 15 minutes to transfer a few gigs of pictures on recent assignments.

On my XP machine, the Lexar Pro CF Reader UDMA reader transfers pics though my USB hub at about 1 gig per minute from a 300x Lexar UDMA card. It also has a slot for SD cards. A HUGE improvement and a good buy for this solid unit.

My previous laptop had a built in fingerprint sensor, I became spoiled by the ease and security of just swiping my finger to log on. This product uses the same software that my laptop had, and I believe it's used by many computer manufacturers using fingerprint readers.

My current laptop a Toshiba Qosmio has face recognition that only works in bright light, even then it takes at least 10 sec. to "recognize" me. I gave up on it, too many bugs.

This reader plugs right into a USB port. When not in use, the connector plug recesses with the cover that protects the sensor, so it's extremely portable.

The one thing I've found, is I need to be careful with it sticking out of the USB port, I could see it being damaged if a heavy object were placed on the end of the reader with nothing under to support it, but the same is true with a flash drive.

I wish my laptop had a built in reader, or that the Toshiba's "new" technology worked properly, but this is an excellent substitute.

I love this memory card with my camera but I can't figure out how to make it work with my cell phone.
